Some ways you can volunteer at Summerfield include:
Accelerated Reader- help pass out earned reading rewards to students on 3 reward dates during the year
Hospitality - bake a dessert for our monthly dessert raffle or provide and/or serve food for teacher luncheons & breakfasts, etc.
Room Parents - assist teacher/class with coordination of various classroom activities including class celebrations, teacher appreciation week, teacher birthday, and other activities as requested by teacher
Brushstrokes Volunteer - one day hour per month, teach your class a lesson using curriculum provided by the Brushstrokes chairperson - kindergarten only
Healthy Vikings Volunteer - approximately once a month, teach your class one hour lesson about healthy living using curriculum provided by the HV chairperson
RUN - solicit corporate sponsorships, help publicize the event, assist with coordination of RUN on day of event by passing out water, counting laps, etc.
Clerical Assistance - make grade level photocopies as needed by teachers
Box Tops - This is perfect for anyone that wants to help out but doesn't have any spare time. Clip your box tops as close to the dotted lines as you can. Check expiration dates. Place your clipped, non-expired box tops in bags of 50 with your students name, homeroom teacher on them
School Garden/Beautification - flexible opportunity to assist with planting, watering, maintaining our exixting school garden and create new garden spaces
Team Dad - help with campus work days, RUN, reading to classes, mentor students
School Events - help plan and organize events such as multicultural night, movie nights, Veterans recepton, Spring Fling dance, Greensboro Grasshoppers' game, etc. Committees can always use more help at the multitude of fun events at our school. Classroom - contact teachers to find out how you can help in the classroom
After-School Enrichment - help check in students on program dates and send emails about the programs
Translations - help with translation of forms and other communications
Other Ideas - Do you have any special skills or talents that haven't been mentioned above? Come to a monthly PTA meeting to share these ideas.
